2. Statewide GIS data and supplemental GPS data collection (Electronic Field Data Collection)
Existing digital data from national, state, regional, county and local sources such as road inventories, well permits, wetlands, soil types, parks, and population forecasts was also used to characterize existing conditions in the study area. Portions of this data were made available with restrictions on use and redistribution.
Some of the readily available national and statewide data was not adequate to accurately describe existing conditions at the appropriate scale for an area transportation planning effort. Electronic field data collection techniques were used to supplement available data and update existing data to meet the needs of the planning effort.
