9. Alternative strategy refinement with public input (Collaborative Planning and Design)

The County used a similar interactive database tool to obtain public input into the alternatives identification process. Several public input stations were set up throughout the county. Members of the public were encouraged to stop in, review the plan materials, and draw their ideas for bypass alignments on the computer screen. Impacts associated with the proposed alignments "popped up" on the screen. Opportunities for revising the alignments and considering impact trade-offs were provided by the collaborative planning application.
